Thompson and Hoff Join Gfeller Laurie
Gfeller Laurie in West Hartford has broadened its expertise in dealing with fallout from events such as the COVID-19 pandemic with the addition of two attorneys familiar with natural disaster litigation.
New partner Melicent Thompson and new associate Elizabeth O'Donnell Hoff have strong expertise working with insurers, strengthening Gfeller Laurie's connection to the insurance industry, a growth target for the firm. Both attorneys previously practiced with Litchfield Cavo in Hartford.
The addition of Thompson and Hoff brings total attorneys at Gfeller Laurie to 16. With a main office in West Hartford Center, the firm also has locations in New York City, Princeton, New Jersey and Boston, Massachusetts.
Thompson and Hoff bring extensive experience as litigators and corporate counselors. For two-plus decades, Thompson has handled coverage litigation and counseling in a range matters, including business interruption and civil authority coverage. She also has expertise with executive level disputes. Hoff's experience includes litigation and counseling in crumbling foundation claims, as well as insurance coverage for natural disaster and third-party general liability claims.
|Kristin Connors Joins SOC
Kristin Connors has joined the Stockman O'Connor as a named partner, making the Bridgeport firm's new name Stockman O'Connor Connors and allowing the firm to retain its acronym and nickname, SOC.
A highly regarded trial attorney, Connors has successfully defended high-exposure medical malpractice claims at trial on behalf of physicians and health care providers. She will continue that practice at SOC, along with her representation of physicians and facilities before the Department of Public Health, the Office of Health Strategy and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
In a release, Eric Stockman said the firm is weathering changes and adapting amid the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the health and well-being of its employees, clients, colleagues and friends.
