Remembered as a passionate legal advocate and the "godmother of immigration law," attorney Elizabeth "Betty" Leete continued to practice full time until she was 84. She died July 15 at age 86 in West Hartford.

Leete, who in 1980 formed Leete, O'Neill & Kosto, the largest all-women firm in Connecticut at the time, was a mentor to many, her friends and colleagues said Friday. The firm later became Leete, Kosto & Wizner.
