The uptick in COVID-19 cases and hot spots in the state has caused criminal and civil jury trials, scheduled to begin Nov. 2 in state court, to be delayed and reassessed on a weekly basis.

In addition, decisions to have criminal jury trials, also scheduled to begin Monday in the state’s three federal courts, will be made at the discretion of the presiding judge, according to Chief Judge Stefan Underhill of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
