In the wake of the January 6 invasion of the U. S. Capitol building, 17 members of the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Vice President Pence requesting that he invoke the 25th Amendment. We agree and call on the vice president and the cabinet to remove President Donald Trump from office.

The storming of the U. S. Capitol and disruption of Congress’ electoral college debate was a global embarrassment. America holds itself out as the world’s greatest democracy. On January 6, we looked like a third-world country with no governmental stability. Mr. Trump may not have been one of the actual insurgents, but he incited this attack and then refused to condemn it.
