Julie Manning is now chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut, but her journey into bankruptcy law was not something she had envisioned.
Around the time she was a student at Suffolk University School of Law in Boston in the late 1980s, Manning had lost both parents.
