Danbury civil rights attorney Josephine Smalls Miller has filed a motion for reinstatement to practice in the federal courts, saying the state has discriminated against her by failing to set a date to reinstate her law license.

Miller, who is Black, served a one-year suspension from the Connecticut Bar starting in November 2018. She reapplied for reinstatement in December 2019, but was told in March 2020 that a hearing was being delayed due to COVID-19.
