A glowing letter from a high school football coach about his star athlete helped secure a $88,200 settlement after a car struck the boy’s leg, breaking it.

The prospect of that boy not being able to play football in his senior year of school after the accident helped propel an insurance adjuster to up their settlement offer more than $20,000, according to the boy’s attorney.
