A renowned Boston attorney has secured a six-figure settlement from the Archdiocese of Hartford for a 53-year-old man who says he was sexually assaulted at least 100 times in the 1980s by a priest who was also a music and Latin teacher at East Catholic High School in Manchester.

Attorney Mitchell Garabedian—whose work against priest sex abuse was highlighted in the movie “Spotlight”—told the Connecticut Law Tribune Friday that his client, a Connecticut resident, feels his claims of sexual abuse have been “validated” now that the Archdiocese of Hartford agreed to the settlement. The settlement was made in March and Garabedian announced it during a press conference Wednesday in front of the Archdiocese of Hartford.
