The 2021 Connecticut Legal Awards included nine new Distinguished Leaders from across Connecticut who have contributed important work in both the private and public sectors. They are known both for helping fellow attorneys and for bettering the communities in which they practice. All were recognized in the recent Connecticut Legal Awards program for their exemplary efforts and for setting examples for others in the industry.

DISTINGUISHED LEADERS

Gregg Burton, Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey

Gregg Burton

Carmody partner Gregg Burton is a champion of affordable housing in Connecticut who has worked for two decades in the field, where he has been a recognized leader, supporting numerous historic developments. He is a collaborative partner in the housing development community who is known to always make time for calls from other attorneys, agencies or others parties to help them think through an issue or challenge. In his work as an attorney, Burton represents owners, developers, tenants and lenders in both the public and private sectors. His mantra is simple: always find a way to be helpful and everything else will follow. Known as a “fix-it guy,” Burton jokes that many of his calls start off with, “Do you remember that really difficult project you worked on a couple of years ago?”
