It was the discrepancy in pay among three female plaintiffs and their male peer, and an apparent backdated letter that helped sway a jury to rule in favor of the plaintiffs in a gender discrimination and retaliation lawsuit, according to the women’s attorney, Deborah McKenna.

Following three days of evidence and five and a half hours of deliberations, a federal jury in New Haven handed down a $275,000 verdict to plaintiffs Patricia Black, Ashley Platt and Shawn Danielson.
