Judicial Branch statistics for civil cases in Connecticut from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, shows a an increase of 6,173 of all pending cases from the year before, and a decrease of 3,369 in new filings as compared to July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020.

The reason, many believe, is directly tied to the global pandemic.
