Shant Chalian Joins Day Pitney

Shant Chalian, formerly of Robinson & Cole, has joined Day Pitney as counsel in the firm's investment management and private funds practice, resident in its Stamford office.

"Shant has established a highly successful and diverse legal practice, including extensive corporate, mergers and acquisitions and securities knowledge. With his vast experience and contacts in the investment management industry, Shant is constantly attuned to the current market terms in these areas," said Peter J. Bilfield, co-chair of the firm's investment management and private funds practice group.

"In addition to the significant increase we are seeing this year in fund formation work from U.S. sponsor clients as well as our non-U.S. sponsor clients in Europe and Asia, we are also working with investment managers and other advisers in connection with M&A, spin-out, recapitalization and management buy-out transactions. Shant's deep M&A and fund formation experience will help us better serve our investment management clients engaging in these type of transactions," Bilfield added.
