The family of an Old Saybrook woman, who died from her injuries after following a crash with a tractor-trailer, received a $3.8 million settlement payment in full last week, according to the plaintiff’s attorney.

The woman, 40-year-old Jessica Thomas, was a passenger in a Dodge Neon driven by Lauren Hockla on Nov. 9, 2017. Hockla was turning from Pent Road onto Berlin Turnpike when her vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler Mack truck driven by John J. Albarelli, an employee of Don-Mat Trucking, according to the lawsuit.
