Yale University and its self-funded health plan were sued Friday in Connecticut District Court under the CARES Act. The case, brought by Harris Beach on behalf of three Connecticut medical practices, accuses the school of refusing to reimburse the plaintiffs for COVID-19 testing provided to students and faculty. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant.

In the suit, plaintiffs Murphy Medical Associates and Steven A.R. Murphy, M.D. allege Yale is "blatantly defying federal and state law, as well as principles of equity, by refusing to reimburse" them for tests provided to beneficiaries of Yale's self-funded health plans.
