The Connecticut Supreme Court upheld two lower-court rulings, dismissing a claim of statutory theft against an attorney billed as one of “the most vigorous and aggressive lawyers” in the state.

The plaintiff, Stephen W. Scholz, sued Juda J. Epstein, seeking damages from the Bridgeport-based attorney for alleged misconduct involving the foreclosure of property adjacent to Scholz’s home. Scholz uses the property to operate his business, which includes the storage, repair and resale of industrial equipment.
