"I enjoyed the great fortune of commencing my 20-year practice in Connecticut just as the field of individual employee rights was developing in this state and across the nation," the judge told the General Assembly's Judiciary Committee.

A superior court judge appointed in 2006 died Thursday afternoon after a lengthy illness and hospitalization.
Harry "Hal" Calmar served as the administrative judge in New London Superior Court and was appointed by Gov. M. Jodi Rell. He was 63.
