The Connecticut Appeals Court has upheld the state Superior Court’s summary judgment ruling in favor of an attorney accused of legal malpractice.

The plaintiff, Amy B. Gottesman, hired attorney Mark M. Kratter, of Kratter & Gustafson, to represent her in a divorce proceeding. Gottesman claims Kratter negligently advised her to accept a settlement agreement that had “several shortcomings,” including leaving her without sufficient funds to carry the mortgage on the four properties subject to the agreement, according to the appellate court’s opinion published Tuesday in the Connecticut Law Journal.
