The state Supreme Court found that the remark of an enraged parent to his son’s preschool teacher—“You better watch your back”—constituted a threat of possible violence when viewed in terms of its context, according to a decision issued Friday.

In State v. Taveras, a state prosecutor sought to overturn an Appellate Court decision that found defendant Kerlyn Taveras’ comments to be protected by the First Amendment.
