Five attorneys were suspended, one reinstated with constraints and another placed on inactive status in October in Connecticut attorney discipline proceedings.

Peter E. Mariano of Naugatuck was granted reinstatement by the court after being placed on inactive status in 2021 due to being convicted on illegally operating of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, the presentment said.

Mariano can only be reinstated if he follows certain provisions. The order said he must present to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel and the Office of Adult Probation if he violates any terms or conditions of probation or court order; he must be treated by Edward Edgar, LADC, who will be authorized to notify the Office of Disciplinary Counsel if any appointments are missed or the recommended treatment is not followed; and he must attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
