Matthew Hubbard, the father of one of the Sandy Hook Elementary School victims, has again lost a bid to restore a withdrawn defamation action against him that he argued was a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation entitling him to collect attorney fees and costs.

This week, the Connecticut Appellate Court upheld a March 2, 2021, decision denying Hubbard’s motion to restore the action so that he could seek fees and costs from the plaintiffs, who previously voluntarily withdrew the lawsuit.
