The Connecticut Hate Crimes Advisory Council, in response to the Connecticut Law Tribune Editorial Board’s Jan. 11 commentary, Connecticut Has an Opportunity to Take Action on Hate Crimes, appreciates the board’s recognition of its findings and the ideas contained in its annual report as well as all of the hard work that went into their development.

Additionally, the council agrees with the board with respect to developing an implementation plan and has taken steps to move its recommendations forward. In brief, the council has been working along parallel paths:
