Connecticut lost a kind, humble and devoted lawyer and law teacher when Jay Pottenger, Nathan Baker Clinical Professor of Law at Yale Law School, passed away in February.

Jay was born in Chicago in 1950, the oldest of six talented children who made their mark in wildly diverse professions: one sister became a vice admiral, the first woman in the history of the U.S. Navy to command a strike group and to hold a combatant force command; another sister is an award-winning avant-garde performance artist. Jay would joke with both pride and humility that he was the least accomplished of his siblings.
