Murtha Cullina and Baker Botts secured a defense verdict in favor of ExxonMobil in a products liability case that claimed the decedent contracted leukemia and died from exposure to benzene.

After around four hours of deliberation, a Stamford jury returned the verdict, and found there was no product defect or failure to warn, and answered causation questions in favor of the defendant.

"We are gratified that an attentive and conscientious jury listened carefully to the evidence and agreed with the company that gasoline did not and cannot cause the development of leukemia," Ty Buthod of Baker Botts, lead counsel for the defendant, said.
