CommentaryThe State of Connecticut Department of Social Services was one of the first Medicaid programs in the United States to add comprehensive coverage of treatment and services for gender transition to its Medicaid program. In recognition of the clear clinical evidence that such services are not experimental and should be covered as part of the Medical Assistance programs, in 2017, coverage was added to HUSKY B, Connecticut's Children's Health Insurance Program.
