Gov. Ned Lamont appointed DeVaughn L. Ward of New London to serve as Connecticut’s interim correction ombudsman.

In this newly established position, which was created by legislation approved by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Lamont, Ward will be responsible for regularly reviewing and evaluating the operations of correctional facilities under the authority of the Connecticut Department of Correction, communicating with individuals in DOC custody and taking actions to ensure their rights, and recommending procedure and policy revisions to DOC.
