Joe Keefe died the other day. What a character! I'm pretty sure he wrote his own obit. You can read it here.

Joe was an Irish defense lawyer. Saying a defense lawyer was Irish used to be like saying the Pope was Catholic. When I joined the plaintiff's bar it was all Irish, (Keefe, O'Keefe, Sweeney, Sullivan, O'Brien, Danehy, Reardon, Geraghty), Italian (Adinolfi, Trantolo, Cicchiello, Bonnano, Bonanno) and Jewish (Glass, Lebovitz, Gersten) on both sides. Being a citizen of Ireland, and a partner with two Jews, I fit right in.
