Connecticut recently witnessed surprisingly strong voter participation during the recent 14 days of "early voting" that was made possible for the first time in our state's history by an amendment to our state constitution that authorized legislative adoption of "early voting." That amendment was approved by the voters in a statewide referendum in 2022.

Voters in Connecticut now have another opportunity during the current 2024 election to amend the state constitution to expand voting rights even further as a result of the ballot referendum that asks the following question: "Shall the constitution of the state be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"
