A scheduled sentencing on felony fraud charges may still stand in the way of former-turned-future president Donald J. Trump's return to the Oval Office, but legal observers don't see it slowing down the president-elect.
"I think it would be unlikely that Merchan would dismiss the case and I believe we will proceed to sentencing," said one veteran white-collar defense attorney, referencing Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan.
