Theodore R. Paulding helped put some big businesses on the map as co-founder of Hartford, Conn.-based intellectual property law firm McCormick, Paulding & Huber. Companies like Gerber Scientific, United Technology Corp. and Esso turned to Paulding’s firm for patent and trademark work, and litigation when necessary.
And from the day the law firm’s doors opened in 1957, Paulding always had time for start-up companies and solo inventors. “We never turned away the walk-in individual guy,” Paulding said. “I have always enjoyed working with creative young people.”
