The ABA 20/20 Ethics Commission has recommended that the American Bar Association House of Delegates amend Rule 1.6 of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct to add a new exception to the lawyer’s duty of confidentiality. The House of Delegates should reject this unwise attempt to erode client confidentiality.
