After almost 130 years of membership in the Connecticut bar, woman attorneys are playing an increasingly visible and important role in the profession.

The percentage of women general counsel in Fortune 500 companies has grown rapidly over the last 35 years and now is at 19 percent. Twenty-six percent of state court judges are now women. Progress towards equality has been frustratingly slow but, thanks to these encouraging trends and affinity programs for woman like Day Pitney’s Women Working Together, there is a far greater reason for optimism.
