In the U.S. Senate race in Connecticut, Democrat Richard Blumenthal is known as the guy with the courtroom experience, through his years as the state’s attorney general.
But his main Republican challenger, Linda McMahon, is also no stranger to litigation. Over the past 30 years, she and her husband, Vince, have grown Stamford-based World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. into an entertainment empire. Not only have they made hundreds of millions of dollars from their sports-themed soap operas, but they have kept plenty of lawyers in Connecticut and elsewhere busy with cases that include employee classification disputes, wrongful termination and sexual harassment allegations, and intellectual property battles.
