Mark Nielsen has spent much of his professional life in the public eye. He spent three terms in the Connecticut legislature, ran twice for Congress and was a top aide in the Massachusetts governor’s office.

But in recent years, Nielsen has transitioned into the private sector. This summer, he moved into his new office at Praxair Inc. in Danbury – one of the world’s largest makers of industrial gases – where he now serves as associate general counsel, chief compliance officer and assistant secretary of the Fortune 500 company.
