After just five years of practicing law in Connecticut, Stacy Smith Walsh has made a difference fast. An associate at Day Pitney, she’s played a key role in the efforts to improve gender equity in law firms.

Earlier this year, a woman in the law committee she co-chairs implemented a “Best Practices for Gender Equity” pledge that nine law firms have so far signed. This new manifesto, in part, calls for employers to provide women access to meaningful work, alternative work schedules, mentoring programs and promotion to all levels of management.
