It is discomforting to see the state’s Judicial Branch suffer reduced appropriations and struggle to select the victims of an $11 million budget cut. According to Chief Court Administrator Barbara Quinn, the slice will harm operations already in need of additional funding. The executive squeeze on the judiciary is unnecessary.
This is an opportune time for me to vent a long-held pet peeve. It might help solve judicial’s monetary needs. Governor Rell, Judge Quinn, I’ll show you the money. It is there for the taking if only you will muster the courage to take on the Teflon Don of state government – Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. He is one of the biggest unchecked drains on the public treasury and has gotten away with it for years.
