In the three months since the Judicial Branch began providing foreclosure mediation services, 427 cases have been handled, of which 226 resulted in families being allowed to remain in their homes.

That’s a bright spot in an otherwise grim economic scenario affecting Connecticut citizens and the civil courts that process foreclosures. At a meeting of the Judicial Branch’s Civil Commission last week, members learned that 21,000 foreclosures are projected for next year in Connecticut, more than double the typical total of 10,000.
