Robert Myer v. Connecticut Distributing et al.: A Waterbury truck driver with brain injuries agreed to a $1.8 million mediated settlement after sustaining brain and back injuries in a fall at a Bridgeport loading dock.
Robert Myer was picking up a shipment at a loading dock owned by Campus Office Park Associates on Jan, 24, 2001. When he used the metal trellis-like stepping grid in an attempt to reach the loading dock, it fell away from the dock unexpectedly. Myer sustained head injuries that ultimately resulted in a 22 percent permanent partial disability to his brain. He also sustained 5 percent permanent partial disability ratings to his cervical spine, plus a separate injury to his lumbar spine with the same rating.
