Robert E. Beach Jr., a nominee for the Appellate Court since Nov. 1, has actually been involved in appellate work since the beginning of his legal career.

He clerked for state Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles S. House in his first job after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1972, and handled appellate matters as a prosecutor in the Connecticut chief state’s attorney’s office for seven-and-a half years.
