Derby Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Paul O. Gaetano is being punished with a 60-day unpaid suspension for obliging a Derby judge’s improper request to have his son’s DUI case transferred from Bridgeport.

The discipline was meted out after an investigation by Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane. Kane and Ansonia-Milford State’s Attorney Kevin D. Lawlor announced the agreement May 21, with the suspension to begin immediately. It was negotiated between the criminal justice division and the state prosecutors union, known as the Connecticut Association of Prosecutors.
