Former Day, Berry & Howard managing partner Francis H. Morrison III has decided to take his 32 years of litigation experience to another team. He and partner Matthew J. Becker are leaving Day Pitney’s Hartford office to join the intellectual property litigation group at Axinn Veltrop & Harkrider a few blocks away.

At Day Pitney, the pair focused on litigation involving life sciences, defending brand name pharmaceutical companies, said James Sicilian, Day Pitney’s co-managing partner. Axinn Veltrop’s growth in life sciences patent litigation, however, is focused on representing major generic drug companies, such as Iceland-based Actavis Group, URL/Mutual of Philadelphia and Taro Pharmaceuticals of New York, name partner James D. Veltrop said.
