The state Supreme Court was ready for its close-up.
Two weeks before new media coverage rules go into effect, it made an exception to allow advanced camera techniques in the same-sex marriage case of Kerrigan v. Department of Health. Instead of a single, fixed camera shooting a wide angle from the back of the courtroom, the Connecticut public affairs network CT-N obtained permission to push the time envelope and launch its three-camera coverage with zooming close-ups and explanatory captions.
