Connecticut is going on a year without having a Supreme Court chief justice, and Gov. M. Jodi Rell’s much-anticipated nomination has been repeatedly delayed.

“She said it was going to be before the New Year, then it was supposed to be last week, and now it’s supposed to be this week,” Sen. Andrew J. McDonald, D-Stamford, said on Feb 15, as The Law Tribune went to press. “I don’t know what the delay is. I think the Judicial Branch is in need of a new CEO at the helm,” he said, adding, “I am assuming the governor is moving as quickly as possible.”
