In a last ditch effort to pull a family out of a tailspin of parental alienation caused in large part by the mother of two teenaged boys, Waterbury Superior Court Judge Elizabeth A. Bozzuto has taken the extreme step of awarding sole custody to their father.

The judge’s Jan. 18 order came despite the children wanting nothing to do with their father and having lived with their mother since the couple’s divorce more than 10 years ago.
