Hartford-based Shipman & Goodwin has named Amy R. Kirschbaum as a partner. She practices in the area of employee benefits, including tax-qualified retirement plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, cafeteria plans and Employee Retirement Income Security Act compliance.
John Horvack Jr., a partner in Waterbury-based Carmody & Torrance’s litigation practice, was appointed to the Waterbury Bar Association’s board of directors. Fellow litigation partner William M. O’Donnell III, meanwhile, was elected as the association’s treasurer. Horvack handles intellectual property and complex commercial matters. O’Donnell heads the firm’s plaintiffs’ department.
