Ratcheting up the rancor in the ongoing feud over probate court consolidation, a group of probate judges is calling for the ouster of Probate Court Administrator James J. Lawlor.
In a scathing letter addressed to members of the General Assembly, the Connecticut Probate Judges Association for Local Courts Inc. charged Lawlor with mismanaging the financially troubled probate court system. The association, made up of 36 of the state’s 123 probate judges, was formed to advocate reform without mandatory consolidation of the probate courts.
