The very morning last week that Day, Berry & Howard was breaking its merger news in Hartford’s CityPlace I office tower, lawyers in CityPlace II were being told of their firm’s metamorphosis into a legal behemoth more than 200 lawyers larger than the one created by the Day-Pitney nuptials.

But because Day Berry is based in Hartford and Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner isn’t, Brown Raysman’s combination with Thelen Reid & Priest took a backseat in the local merger hoopla department.
