After years of being resistant to a merger, Hartford-based Day, Berry & Howard announced this morning it is finally taking the plunge and combining with 170-lawyer Pitney Hardin in New Jersey.
The product of the merger, which is expected to be completed by Jan. 1, will be known as Day Pitney. It will have roughly 400 lawyers in nine offices in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston and Washington, D.C.
