When Newtown attorney Stephen L. Savarese was sworn into court as a fact witness on Sept. 10, 2003, he didn’t abide by the “whole truth” part of the oath, according to a recent ruling by Waterbury Superior Court Judge Salvatore C. Agati.
Testifying for the plaintiffs in a contentious lease dispute, Savarese “mistakenly neglected to provide a complete response” to a question about presenting Thomas Yannielli, owner of the defendant Middlebury Dairy Bar, with any lease documents, according to Savarese’s affidavit in which he admitted his wrongdoing.
