It’s no secret that the Norwalk G.A. is one of the state’s most arduous courts in which to work, for both judges and attorneys. Traffic nightmares are constant, and relations between prosecutors and the defense bar can be strained.

These difficulties have recently grown worse, according to several veteran criminal defense attorneys. In the words of one lawyer, "a perfect storm" of frustrations has prompted several private defense attorneys to avoid the court and to speak out about what they view as a desperate situation.
