Kathleen Crockford v. Lawrence M. Spencer, et al.: A Congregational pastor who suffered a permanent brain injury after an 80,000-pound tractor-trailer rear-ended her at an intersection was recently awarded just over $2.5 million by a federal court jury in Bridgeport.

Kathleen Crockford, 59, of the Pawcatuck section of Stonington, was on her way back from a funeral in Massachusetts on the afternoon of May 29, 2008. Crockford, who was then the full-time solo pastor of the Westerly-Pawcatuck Congregational Church, was sitting in traffic at the intersection of Route 1 and Elm Street in Stonington.
